Simply Southern Photography at Stover Hall

Tiara and Timothy’s rustic wedding took place in a barn surrounded by open fields and the Blue Ridge Mountains of Luray, VA! They started their day getting ready in Stover Hall’s gorgeous main house, which was built in 1833. Special items for the bridal party were scattered throughout the house, such as matching rain boots and personalized cups for the bridesmaids, and patterned socks for all of the groomsmen and ring bearers. This day screamed excitement and you could sense it as soon as you entered the house! Timothy and Tiara chose to not see each other before the ceremony, but did opt to hold hands with a door between them! The wedding ceremony was planned to be held outside, but with a huge snowstorm exactly one week before the couple’s big day, things had to be moved inside. When the ceremony began, the double barn doors opened from behind where the couple stood. With the snow and the mountains, this provided an absolutely gorgeous backdrop! After the “I do’s” were said and portraits were taken, they entered their reception, which was full of DIY decorations by the bride herself! The couple, surrounded by their friends and family, went straight into their first dance as husband and wife dancing to “Feels Like Home” by Chantal Kreviazuk. The couple incorporated traditions, such as the cake cutting and the throwing of the bouquet and garter, but they also had some unique moments, such as a “rap” by three of the bridesmaids and the maid of honor! They made up their own lyrics to well-known songs that told the love story of the bride and groom, which were high school sweethearts! Overall, the day couldn’t have fit the fun, energetic personality of the bride or the laid-back nature of the groom any more perfectly!
